The Birthing Hut, LLC is passionately committed to combating these disparities with our services as birth workers, doula certification courses and trainings. We offer an array of customizable services to suite the specific preferences and needs of each of our mothers and their families.

At MAYA we envision a city without disparities in maternal and infant outcomes: one in which all birthing people are empowered, supported, and celebrated as they take on the transformative task of giving birth and raising a new life. We aspire to a future where the experiences and interests of birthing people of color are centered, and where birthworkers are supported and recognized for their critical role in the community.

I’m a trained DONA international birth doula. I am experienced in the support of expectant and new mothers with compassion, love and trust. Not only a doula but I’m a Author, Healthy Relationship speaker and founder of Kangaroo Birthing & Maternity Concierge and fiscal agent sister arm in partnership with New Sun Rising Unshakeable Motherhood! 

What started out as a group of moms meeting in a living room has grown into a community of over 6400 Black moms in the Pittsburgh region, and over 10,000 moms nationally.The stories of these moms through these monologues built a stage where moms can liberate themselves by sharing their stories with the masses through the Brown Mama Monologues.

Today, Brown Mamas is so much more than a group of moms.  It is a testament to their original idea that making moms better moms, makes dads better dads, children become better adults and, ultimately, communities become better communities.
